Versinetic amps up: EV chargepoint consultancy gears for growth
Smart charging consultancy Versinetic has reported another year of strong growth, with an influx of new partnerships, cutting-edge EV products, expanded staff, and entry into key international markets including Australia and New Zealand.
Headquartered in Longbridge, the firm collaborates with global companies to accelerate the development of next-generation electric vehicle charging solutions. These include reliable and versatile components such as the EV Charger Development Kit, Load Balancing Controller module, and Smart Charge Point Communications controller; alongside software offerings like their OCPP Software Stacks and a customisable, white-label charging application.
Versinetic’s engineering team, with experience dating back to the 2012 London Olympics, forms the EV charging division of the multi-award-winning electronics design consultancy, ByteSnap Design.
Dunstan Power, Managing Director at Versinetic, commented, “Our growth has been driven largely by the global demand for our adaptable charging solutions and our deep expertise in the EV charging sector. We now serve clients across EMEA, North America, and APAC regions.”
By the close of 2023, Versinetic had introduced three innovative products: the Remora PLC Module to enhance EV charging communication; BalanSea for charger-to-charger load management; and its White Label Installer App to streamline management for EV charge point installers.
Following a fruitful recruitment campaign, Versinetic expanded its team, welcoming two software engineers and a technical sales engineer.
Versinetic offers a comprehensive suite of solutions ranging from complete products (PCBs) with integrated smart charger software to design services and software-only options, tailoring these solutions to meet local charging regulations.
This expansion has opened numerous business opportunities in the APAC region, coinciding with Australia and New Zealand’s initial phases of EV adoption, which present unique challenges in deploying EV charging infrastructure. The load-balancing product, LinkRay, has shown significant traction in these markets.
Despite challenges posed by COVID-19, component shortages, and supply chain disruptions over the past three years, growth has persisted. Dunstan Power concluded, “Navigating through the supply chain crisis and a rapidly changing market has been tough. Versinetic has adapted its business model to market conditions by offering flexible, modular, and technologically advanced solutions. We’ve also countered pricing pressure, particularly from Chinese manufacturers, by ensuring our solutions are competitively priced. Our products evolve with emerging needs, keeping us at the forefront of EV charging technology.”
Versinetic is a member of the British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers Association (BEAMA), the UK’s trade association for energy infrastructure technology providers, and the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA), where it contributes to shaping future EV charging policies and standards.
