Birmingham technology manufacturer news as Novocomms set to expand its operations
Novocomms Ltd, a technology manufacturer based in Birmingham, has announced plans to expand its operations and create 100 new jobs after completing a funding round. The company, which specializes in designing and manufacturing antennas for various markets, aims to hire additional engineers and salespeople, relocate to new office premises, and create 100 jobs by September 2025, with 30 of those roles to be filled within the next six months.
Founded by Dr Sampson Hu, a University of Birmingham alumnus, Novocomms holds over 100 global patent applications and has its global headquarters located in Birmingham, with a subsidiary in Suzhou, China. The expansion plans mark a significant milestone for the company, which is poised to continue its growth and contribute to the local economy by creating new employment opportunities.
Dr Colin Tucker, chairman, said: “Our recent funding round and the upcoming expansion of our team will not only create new job opportunities but also contribute to the overall growth of the West Midlands economy.
“We are proud to be part of the region’s innovative ecosystem and look forward to further establishing Novocomms as a leader in wireless communication technology.”
Councillor Ian Ward, leader of Birmingham City Council, added: “Novocomms’ ongoing growth is a direct product of Birmingham’s unique tech ecosystem.
“The business is a shining example of how our city’s tech firms are working hand in hand with our world-class universities, such as the University of Birmingham, to fast-track the commercialisation of emerging technologies.
“Birmingham’s deep pool of tech talent also makes it the ideal location for Novocomms to grow their footprint in the global telecoms market.”
