Cohesity, a London firm specialising in AI-powered data security, today announced an expanded strategic partnership with CrowdStrike to enhance threat detection and response capabilities. This collaboration combines Cohesity’s robust data protection features with CrowdStrike’s threat intelligence feeds, aiming to establish a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity in backup and recovery solutions.
CrowdStrike’s 2024 Global Threat Report highlights that adversaries are adopting more effective tactics, such as credential harvesting and exploiting vulnerabilities, which surpass legacy defences by using AI and other sophisticated technologies to evolve their techniques swiftly. The latest integration between Cohesity Data Cloud and CrowdStrike Falcon Adversary Intelligence aims to counteract these sophisticated cyber threats effectively.
Cohesity’s data protection solution, together with CrowdStrike’s threat intelligence feeds that track over 250 adversaries and incorporate indicators of compromise (IOCs), enables mutual customers to detect the latest threats in their backup copies with enhanced fidelity and accuracy. This powerful combination provides greater visibility into attacks by delivering the latest intelligence on emerging threats and minimising attackers’ advantages. Threat hunting on Cohesity backup copies allows customers to investigate discreetly and passively, ensuring that adversaries do not impact investigations through containment or response activities.
With Cohesity’s clean room design and integrated tooling, customers can access specialised forensic capabilities to analyse malware, investigate breaches, and understand attack vectors without risking contamination of their broader IT environment.
Craig Martell, Chief Technology Officer at Cohesity, remarked, “Elevating your organisation’s threat detection and response is crucial in today’s threat environment, especially with AI at the disposal of cyber adversaries. Secondary data estates offer a perfect opportunity for minimising attackers’ advantages and, together with CrowdStrike, our customers can enhance their threat hunting and response and automate defences across their security stack.”
Cohesity remains committed to integrating the best security solutions, providing customers with the flexibility to choose appropriate solutions without compromising functionality or adding complexity. This adaptability allows for a tailored security posture that can evolve in response to emerging threats and changes in the IT environment.
Daniel Bernard, Chief Business Officer at CrowdStrike, stated, “Our continued partnership with Cohesity and latest joint efforts reflect our shared commitment to cyber resilience. To stay ahead, enterprises benefit from streamlining threat intelligence and response efforts while also harnessing their vast secondary data to gain security insights. This integration provides the technology and intelligence they need to reduce risk.”
By partnering with leaders like CrowdStrike, Cohesity’s solutions are better equipped to protect organisations’ digital assets in today’s dynamic threat environment.
