Solus Power and QinetiQ join forces on electric vehicle charging

Solus Power, a London-based innovator in electric vehicle charging, has announced a partnership with Farnborough’s defence giant QinetiQ to develop advanced charging solutions for military and civilian use.

The collaboration will focus on creating portable and scalable charging infrastructure to meet the needs of both the Ministry of Defence and the wider EV market.Solus Power’s flagship product, the ‘Kratos’, is a modular battery pack capable of delivering rapid charging to electric vehicles, drones, and other equipment. Its compact and rugged design makes it ideal for deployment in challenging environments.

Stas Leonidou, CEO, Solus Power, said: “Solus Power welcomes the opportunity recognised in this MOU to collaborate with an organisation of QinetiQ’s standing and experience in the defence sector, and with its exceptional record of innovation and solutions development.” 

The partnership with QinetiQ will see the companies jointly explore how this technology can be adapted for military operations, where reliable and portable power sources are essential. QinetiQ’s expertise in defence and security will be invaluable in identifying and addressing the specific challenges faced by the armed forces.

This collaboration also highlights the growing importance of mobile charging solutions in the civilian market, as demand for electric vehicles continues to rise. By developing innovative charging infrastructure, Solus Power and QinetiQ aim to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient energy future.
