Revolutionary compact secure router developed in Coventry enhances security
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry is at the forefront of developing the AlbeePro smart router, a pioneering solution in compact and secure mobile connectivity. This innovative device, born from a collaboration between the MTC and Cheshire-based communications firm Albeego, aims to address the connectivity and cybersecurity challenges inherent in mobile routers.
Engineered to be mobile, compact, affordable, and secure, the AlbeePro router offers fast, stable, and secure connectivity on the move, without the common issues of instability and insecurity. Currently, over 60 units are in production for beta testing across a diverse range of companies and organisations, with full-scale production set to commence later this year.
Targeting sectors where reliability and security are critical—such as emergency services, defence, medical services, and banking—the AlbeePro router promises to revolutionise secure, resilient mobile communication. The MTC’s Product Manufacturing Incubator has played a key role in this development, enhancing the router’s design, technical specifications, size, weight, and production-readiness, alongside managing materials supply and regulatory compliance.
Albeego director Simon Precious said working with the MTC had been an exciting experience. “When the prototype was unveiled we were massively excited, seeing the concept come to life. We are extremely optimistic about the future of the product and we look forward to further co-operation with the MTC team as we continue to develop products.”
MTC PMI business development manager Gabrielle England said, “Albeego has brought innovative and disruptive technology to their sector and we are delighted to be helping them bring their router to market.”
The Product Manufacturing Incubator (PMI) at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) offers a nurturing environment for start-ups to design and craft prototypes of their groundbreaking products.
