Octopus Energy extends Birmingham presence with new office and creation of 50 jobs
Octopus Energy has recently finalised a five-year lease agreement for a 2,900 sq ft office space at the historic Imperial and Whitehall on Colmore Row. This move signifies the company’s commitment to enhancing its presence in Birmingham and fostering growth in the region.
The new office suite will serve as the headquarters for Octopus Energy’s national solar PV sales team. This expansion comes as a strategic step, building on their existing first-floor suite within the same building, where their dedicated sales office has been operating since 2021.
Neil Woolley, director at Octopus Energy, said: “We’re thrilled to be doubling down on our Birmingham presence. Having successfully launched a sales office here in 2021, Birmingham felt the natural choice to launch our new solar PV sales HQ and create more than 50 new jobs.
“Even with the increase in flexible working, employees still appreciate an engaging office space in a fantastic location and Imperial and Whitehall offers just that. Growth has already exceeded expectations; I’m sure we’ll need to triple down in Birmingham very soon.”
Imperial and Whitehall, initially constructed by Isaac Horton during the 1870s, stands as a testament to its historic origins. Originally a component of The Grand Hotel Birmingham, this establishment comprises sixteen meticulously renovated office suites that gracefully preserve numerous original architectural elements.
