Teltonika picks Manchester for its first UK HQ

Teltonika, a global technology company, has chosen Manchester as the location for its first UK headquarters. The Lithuanian firm, which specialises in IoT devices and solutions, will occupy a space in Building 8 at Exchange Quay.

Ciarán Harkin, chief executive at Teltonika UK, said: “We are an ambitious business with a high desire to grow our presence in the UK and with a localised support function in place we can respond to requirements quickly and ensure our R&D teams receive the latest in-country trends and insight for product development. We can see that Manchester is an ambitious city and it’s impossible not to get caught up in the energy it imbues.  We needed a central location with great access links to all major UK cities and we could also see that with the range of educational establishments in the region, talent is thriving in Manchester, so it’s right that we position ourselves here to attract the best people to serve our clients.”

The move will see Teltonika establish a local presence to better serve its UK and Irish customer base. The company plans to recruit a range of roles before the end of the year, with further growth expected in the years to come.

Paul Dennett, City Mayor of Salford, added: “Teltonika’s decision to establish its first UK base here in Salford is a fantastic addition to our thriving tech ecosystem. Exchange Quay offers the connectivity, talent, and collaborative environment that tech companies need to innovate and grow, and we are thrilled to welcome Teltonika to the community. This investment demonstrates Salford’s increasing appeal as a destination for global technology companies, and we look forward to seeing the impact Teltonika will make in supporting local job growth and driving our region’s digital economy forward.”

MIDAS, Manchester’s inward investment agency, played a key role in attracting Teltonika to the city, providing market intelligence and property advice. Teltonika’s decision to establish a UK base highlights Manchester’s growing reputation as a tech hub and a desirable location for international businesses.

Joseph Beaden, head of inward investment in creative, digital and tech at MIDAS, explains: “MIDAS worked with the company, assisting their decision to locate here and to choose Salford’s Exchange Quay as its base and is testament to Greater Manchester’s reputation as a leading hub for technology and innovation, talent and global connectivity. The investment will not only create jobs for the city-region, but also contribute to the continued growth of our tech sector.”
