Plans underway for February 2024’s Leicestershire Innovation Festival

Plans for the sixth annual Leicestershire Innovation Festival are already in motion, with the event scheduled for February 2024.

Over the course of a fortnight, the festival will have a series of events celebrating the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that flourishes throughout Leicester and the wider county. Past events have encompassed support sessions catering to startups, insightful guidance on forging partnerships with local universities, and even discussions about how sleep apps can enhance the well-being and productivity of drivers on our roads.

The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) has confirmed that the festival will take place from Monday 5th February to Friday 26th February. The LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards – organised by festival media partner and parent company Reach PLC – will take center stage on Thursday 15th February.

Last year’s festival set new records, boasting an impressive 1,200 registrations over the course of the two-week event. Sixteen events took place in person at notable venues such as HQ Recording in Leicester, Charnwood Campus, MIRA Technology Park, and the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). Esteemed hosts including Innovate UK, Leicester Startups, British Business Bank, BeGreat Consulting, and Ruth Coalson Consulting contributed to the festival’s success.

Dr. Nik Kotecha OBE DL, chair of the LLEP Innovation Board, founder of Loughborough’s Morningside Pharmaceuticals, and one of the festival’s originators, shared his excitement: “We’re determined to build upon the tremendous success of this year’s festival, and our meticulous planning is well underway. Collaborations with representatives from Reach and various public and private organizations for sponsorship are progressing. We’re actively nurturing ideas and expanding our partnerships to ensure that the 2024 Leicestershire Innovation Festival becomes our most remarkable and expansive event yet.”
