Leeds IT firm renews commitment to inspiring young tech talent

Netcompany UK, an IT services firm with offices in Leeds, London and Birmingham, has reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing digital skills and gender equality in the tech industry. The company has extended its partnership with Ahead Partnership, a Leeds-based organisation, to further expand initiatives that have already benefited thousands of young people.

As an anchor sponsor of Ahead Partnership’s Growing Talent Digital Leeds programme, Netcompany has played a pivotal role in addressing the digital skills gap and promoting diversity within the tech sector. The renewed partnership will see the expansion of the flagship Girl Tech programme to Manchester, Newcastle and London. This initiative aims to inspire Year 8 girls by providing them with role models and practical experiences to explore technology careers.

Furthermore, the Smart Cities Challenge, which challenges students to design innovative, tech-enabled urban solutions, will now engage schools in Birmingham, Manchester, and Newcastle. This expansion will empower young people to think critically about the future of cities and the role of technology in shaping them.

By investing in these programmes, Netcompany UK is demonstrating its commitment to creating a more inclusive and prosperous future for the next generation of tech talent.

Kate Watson, social value lead at Netcompany UK, said: “We have already seen significant growth in the ambitions and confidence of those young people that we have engaged through our work with Ahead Partnership, and have taken much inspiration from their ideas and creativity. Our partnership will allow us to build on the success of our longstanding collaboration, expanding into new regions across the country, strengthening our existing connections with young people and schools, and ultimately investing in the future of the wider sector.”
