Digital technology company set to create jobs with Newcastle city centre office
Digital technology firm Scrumconnect Consulting is poised to inaugurate its new office in the heart of Newcastle at Portland House. The new space will enable the company to achieve its aim of generating 150 job opportunities over the next four years, aligning with its broader objective of expanding its workforce from 300 to 1,000 individuals within that same time. More than half of these positions will be based in North England.
This company, which actively supports 16 of the Central Digital and Data Office’s top 75 government services, has collaborated with esteemed entities such as His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS), the Home Office, the Department for Education, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Praveen Karadiguddi, chief executive of Scrumconnect Consulting, commented: “Our £40 million investment and expansion into Newcastle is a strategic move that reflects our growing partnerships with government departments like HMRC in the North East. Our increasing portfolio of contracts in the region highlights the synergy between our services and the government’s evolving needs.
The North East is on the cusp of devolution in May 2024, and it’s seen an injection of investment through the Levelling Up Fund. It’s a prime time for forward-thinking private sector businesses like ours to step in and play a pivotal role in unlocking Newcastle’s vast potential. Our commitment is not just about expanding our footprint; it’ll help to foster economic growth, create jobs, and contribute to the region’s vibrant future.”
To support its growth strategy in the North East, Scrumconnect Consulting has appointed Mark Duncan as chief digital officer. Scrumconnect Consulting, focusing on the North East, aims to digitise the Pension Credit Service located in Newcastle. Additionally, it has earned the distinction of being one of only four SME digital partners chosen for HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) DALAS framework. This framework is designed to modernize the department’s IT systems and diminish reliance on legacy components, with several projects centred around HMRC’s recently established office in Newcastle.
