Edge Testing – crystal ball gazing at DevTest North
Software testing company will demonstrate how to marry capacity models with load testing
One of the UK’s fastest growing and largest independent software testing companies, Edge Testing Solutions, part of Eurofins Digital Testing, will be presenting at DevTest Conference North.
The event, which is being held at Plaza Park, Leeds on 24 – 25 September 2019, will be attended by software testing professionals, and those with a specific interest in DevOps, cloud, networking, security and quality assurance.
Edge Testing’s Senior Performance Engineer and Test Specialist, Matthew Clarke, will be presenting on “Crystal ball gazing: Marrying capacity models and load testing” at 10:05 – 10:30 on the first day of the two-day event.
With the move to DevOps and high-pace development, there is a greater and more frequent need to specify environments. Performance testers are theoretically well-placed to help but they may be naturally cautious about modelling capacity. During his presentation, Matthew will:
- provide an overview of well-established methods that exist for estimating environmental requirements
- walk through an example of how this would be applied
- demonstrate techniques used to validate complex result sets taken after test execution in a simple and digestible way
- validate the return on investment of using modelling and case studies for further resources in this area.
In his role at Edge Testing, Matthew advises on capacity and performance, and after the presentation, he and his colleagues will be available to share their software testing expertise.
Edge Testing offers Digital Test Hubs, with a low cost, on demand, remote testing service; comprehensive cyber security services and support; consultancy on Open Source testing tools and the recently-launched Academy as a Service offering, which provides clients with a low-risk, cost-effective alternative to contractors when building testing teams.
Dan Martland, Head of Technical Testing Practice at Edge Testing, commented: “Technical knowledge is a major strength at Edge Testing and this will be evident during Matthew’s presentation, with real world examples and a thorough analysis of the types of capacity models for load testing.
“Participating in DevTest North gives us another opportunity to meet and greet the regional testing community. This follows on from our recently-opened Digital Test Hub in Manchester, which underlines our commitment to servicing Northern clients from an accessible office.”
Edge Testing’s focus on recruitment and expansion saw the 100th graduate successfully pass through its Edge Academy software testing education programme in May 2018. Now in its 12th year of trading, Edge Testing has a team of over 260 people, boasting some of the UK’s premier testing thought leaders and experts in the industry.
