IT firm Tranquil PC snapped up by US/French company 2CRSI

IT firm Tranquil PC has been snapped up by US/French company 2CRSI.

Tranquil is a family owned company based in Trafford Park and manufactures low energy IT systems.

Founded in 2005 and with headquarters in San Jose, California and Strasbourg, France, 2CRSI Corporation designs and manufactures storage systems, high-performance computing (HPC) and customised IT appliances.

2CRSI said the acquisition will enable the expansion of existing supplier relationships, and the combined expertise of the staff and management teams will ‘substantially’ contribute to the future success of the company.

Chris Ross, partner in the corporate team at the Manchester office of Mills & Reeve, which advised on the sale, said: “The two companies have great synergies and will be a formidable presence on the international market.”

Pater Barton at law firm Gordons advised Tranquil PC and accountants EY conducted financial due diligence.

Tranquil PC was started in 2003 by entrepreneur David Thompson, who started his first business when he was 16 and went on to win the prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise in 1982. The company employs 11 people.

In 2011, Tranquil PC invested in its own engineering and manufacturing facility, from raw aluminium billets to precisely manufactured, hand finished and anodised products.
