New Edge Testing hire boosts Midlands’ service offering
Edge Testing Solutions, part of Eurofins Digital Testing, has boosted its Midlands’ service offering, with the appointment of Gal-on Broner as Principal Technical Consultant to lead its DevOps service from the software testing company’s Midlands Digital Test Hub, which is located at Quayside Wharf.
Gal-on’s appointment follows a series of key senior technical team hires over the last year as part of Edge Testing’s plans to continue expansion across the UK. The software testing company also recently announced four major client wins for a variety of software testing services for leading organisations valued at over £17.5 million, with all testing services for the new clients being undertaken both onsite and remotely from Edge Testing’s Birmingham, and Glasgow, Digital Test Hubs.
Edge Testing’s DevOps service provides organisations across the region with the skills to combine software developments and operations company-wide. Through close consultation, Edge Testing’s DevOps team has already assisted teams, including an award-winning Oracle specialist based in Birmingham, to work collaboratively and understand any challenges that a DevOps approach might bring, while also educating them on the best tools to use.
As part of the drive to support organisations looking to move to DevOps, Gal-on Broner has been appointed Principal Technical Consultant and will lead Edge Testing’s DevOps service. Previously CTO at Tesnet (UK) for over 14 years, Gal-on brings requirements analysis, test automation, agile methodology, scrum, and manual, regression and user acceptance testing expertise to his new role. He will report to Dan Martland, the head of Edge Testing’s technical practice.
Sharon Hamilton, Managing Director, Edge Testing, commented: “With the rapid acceleration of DevOps’ uptake within the business community, we wanted to offer our clients access to a greater pool of senior consultants. We hired Gal-on to lead our growing DevOps practice as he has the knowledge necessary to provide a balance of technical test capability and application of best fit tools.
“Our DevOps service offering aims to transform business processes, to create both value and cost savings through faster delivery times that improve ROI and reduce support costs at the same time as increasing the quality and reliability of the business’ services.”
As part of its education programme, Edge Testing hosted a series of ‘Testing as part of DevOps’ events in Birmingham and across the country in 2018, and has more planned for 2019.
Edge Testing provides services both onsite and remotely from Edge Testing’s Birmingham and Glasgow Digital Test Hubs. Edge Testing launched its first Digital Test Hub in Scotland in 2013, with the second opening last year in the Midlands. The company’s road map now also includes a new Digital Test Hub based in the North of England to offer clients UK-wide an easily accessible remote testing service for their in-house applications and back office systems.
