Halo achieves £10 million valuation in latest equity funding round
Halo, a crowd and public safety tech company based in the Midlands, has reached a £10 million valuation after its latest equity funding round. The company’s software was used during the coronation of King Charles III and the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth. The funding was raised through the crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube, where the company exceeded its target by 198%.
Mansfield’s Halo Solutions received £489,610 from 188 investors on Crowdcube, increasing its total investor count to 220. The Halo System offers a solution for crowd safety, security, and incident management by integrating multiple systems into one platform.
Now a successful crowd safety and threat management platform globally, Halo protects over 3 million people daily. The system facilitates rapid communication, quick response times, and better event planning. It is deployed at major events and venues worldwide, including the Eurovision Song Contest, FIFA World Cup fan zones, and the Miami F1 Grand Prix.
The global market for incident and emergency management was valued at $121.4 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow significantly by 2027. Halo anticipates a 340% revenue increase in FY23 and maintains a client retention rate of 93%.
Founded in 2018 by Lloyd Major, a former counter-terrorism police officer with extensive experience in event security, Halo Solutions now has 16 employees. Lloyd Major commented on the success of the funding round, highlighting its importance for the company’s software development, marketing, and expansion into new regions like America, Europe, and the Middle East.
Halo has also played a crucial role in event safety in the Middle East, working with notable safety and event promoters. Midven, a Birmingham-based venture capital firm and one of Halo’s primary investors, has increased its investment to support Halo’s global growth.
Additionally, Halo has been essential in ensuring public safety at major transportation hubs and university campuses in the UK, including London Euston and Birmingham City University. In recognition of its contributions, Halo was awarded The King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation earlier this year, reflecting the continuation of a prestigious national recognition program under King Charles III.
