Event safety software company Halo Solutions scores investment for growth

Halo Solutions, a Nottinghamshire-based event safety software developer which provides security for up to 1,400 of the biggest events across the world has secured a £750,000 investment to support its growth plans.

Based in Mansfield, Halo Solutions has worked on events including the Cricket World Cup, Notting Hill Carnival, Silverstone, and the Royal Navy Winter Skiing Championships, protecting more than 20 million people.

The business has secured backing from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) managed by Midven, part of the Future Planet Capital Group.

The MEIF funding will allow Halo to accelerate growth by increasing its technical, sales and operational teams, enabling the company to develop its product offering and add more safety features in multiple languages to increase public safety.

Halo’s software ensures every person involved in events – from the control room to emergency services – are brought together through one central software system.

Lloyd Major, chief executive and founder of Halo, said: “The investment marks the start of a new chapter for Halo, enabling us to form a valuable partnership with Midven and the MEIF.

“The additional finance will help us accelerate our growth by allowing us to expand our team by 200 per cent and further develop the system to incorporate the feedback from clients and deliver new and exciting ideas of our own.”

Surjit Kooner, investment director at Midven, added: “Halo has already secured a high-profile customer base in a market where further legislation changes and pressure on event management companies to prioritise public safety will drive demand for more help.

“With this investment, Halo will be able to scale up and bring more experience in house to support business development.”
