Edge expands senior technical testing team with new appointment
One of the UK’s fastest growing and largest independent software testing company, Edge Testing Solutions has bolstered its expansion plans by appointing Senior Technical Test Engineer Iain Finlayson to boost expertise at the company’s Birmingham Digital Test Hub.
Iain is responsible for clients across a number of sectors, providing consultancy to evaluate existing testing processes and defining strategies for the improvement of quality of new software releases.
Graduating with a MSc in Technology Management from the University of Stirling in 1997, Iain has over 20 years of software testing experience and previously worked for clients in the healthcare, financial, defence and public sectors.
Prior to joining Edge, he held a senior testing role at CSC/AppLabs, where he defined, prepared and executed business process test cases, led on defect management for agile, scrum, waterfall and V model software development, and completed end-to-end testing processes on both encrypted and unencrypted links.
Iain commented: “Edge was the right next step, thanks to its reputation in the software testing field. I wanted to be part of the Digital Test Hub in particular, with its innovative approach which enables companies and organisations to resource testing from a UK team. In the first few months with Edge, I have enjoyed a much fuller technical testing role than previously.
“The working environment at Edge is very relaxed and positive, and it’s exciting to get hands on with clients that are facing new challenges, such as GDPR compliance and ensuring software quality for Internet of Things devices.”
Brian Ferrie, CEO and Founder of Edge said: “Iain’s appointment to our senior technical team is another step in growing the department to provide a significant knowledge base for junior colleagues to tap into, to become more technically aware, while increasing their experience, in order to offer all of our clients added value throughout the team.”
Iain’s appointment is just a part of this continued growth, adding to a team of over 250 people, including some of the UK’s premier testing thought leaders and experts.
Edge exceeded its 2016 Year End target, with the company set to reach 300 employees by the end of 2017.
