EcoFlow selects Birmingham for new UK headquarters

EcoFlow, a firm in the portable power and home energy solutions sector, has chosen Birmingham in the West Midlands for its new UK headquarters, with plans to create 35 new jobs. This announcement was made by West Midlands Mayor, Richard Parker, during the UK’s largest trade mission to China in six years.
The new headquarters will be situated within Bruntwood SciTech’s Innovation Birmingham campus, strategically located in Birmingham’s Knowledge Quarter. This site was selected for its proven track record in aiding business growth and its proximity to significant educational and research institutions. The expansion into Birmingham is set to boost EcoFlow’s presence in the UK, creating job opportunities in various sectors including engineering and business development.
Mayor Richard Parker expressed his enthusiasm for the new development, stating, “EcoFlow is a fast-growing company developing solar technology and smart energy solutions. And now they’re investing in the West Midlands. This deal will deliver real benefits for local people – good jobs, greener power storage and a boost to our energy sector.”
Ryan Xing, Managing Director of EcoFlow Europe, highlighted the strategic importance of the location, saying, “The West Midlands is leading the UK’s green industrial revolution, making it a stand-out destination for our new UK Headquarters. This investment marks a significant milestone in EcoFlow’s expansion, reinforcing our commitment to the UK market.”
The site will not only provide EcoFlow with access to a growing STEM talent pool but also offer unparalleled connectivity to potential partners across the UK and internationally. Rob Valentine, Regional Director for Bruntwood SciTech, added, “As the first global technology unicorn to call Birmingham Knowledge Quarter home, their arrival not only reinforces Birmingham’s status as a leading tech hub in the UK but also aligns with our net zero vision.”
Sarah Mann, His Majesty’s Consul-General in Guangzhou, commented on the significance of this development for both EcoFlow and the region, “EcoFlow’s new base in Birmingham will boost the regional economy and serve as a hub for their growth in the UK.
