Aurrigo’s autonomous EV secures innovation award
Aurrigo International plc, a Coventry-based firm, has been recognised for its innovated autonomous vehicle in the Air Cargo News’ Innovation Product of the Year award.
The accolade was presented in London, and recognises the firm’s pioneering efforts in airport logistics. Aurrigo, which boasts over 100 employees at its Advanced Engineering Centre just outside Coventry, triumphed over some of the most prominent names in the industry.
The award, under the patronage of Dubai-based Dnata, acknowledged Aurrigo’s Auto-DollyTug®, an autonomous, all-electric vehicle that transports baggage and cargo around airports without emissions. This recognition underscores the significant impact of Aurrigo’s technologies on the aviation sector.
Judges from across the industry, including James Wyatt from Aeroconcept, Brendan Sullivan from IATA, and Alexandra Herdman from Logistics UK, commended Aurrigo for implementing what they termed the most crucial development in aviation logistics in nearly 40 years. The innovation is acclaimed for its potential to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve environmental sustainability.
