Ambitious £100M technology park location revealed with Ashfield confirmed as its location
The establishment of a cutting-edge £100 million innovation and technology park in Ashfield has taken a significant step forward, with the Ashfield District Council officially confirming the preferred location for this ambitious project.
The chosen site, situated on Lowmoor Road in Sutton, Ashfield, directly opposite Sutton Parkway, has been earmarked for this development, which will house the Automated Distribution and Manufacturing Centre (ADMC).
In a crucial move, the Ashfield District Council has given preliminary approval to acquire the land from Nottinghamshire County Council. The necessary funding for this endeavour has been secured through Ashfield District Council’s Towns Fund Deal, representing a key element of the broader investment initiative aimed at establishing nationally and internationally acclaimed hubs akin to the UK’s existing Catapult Centres.
The ADMC, valued at £30 million, will span an impressive 43,000 square feet and serve as a versatile facility. Within its confines, areas will be designated for research and development, new product innovation and testing, educational and skills advancement, technology showcasing, networking, collaboration, and event hosting.
This state-of-the-art centre will serve as a home for technical experts, engineers, and researchers, offering invaluable support to businesses of all sizes across the East Midlands. Its mission is to facilitate the understanding and integration of automation technologies while enabling the training of personnel for higher-skilled positions.
