Solihull Health Tech Campus moves forward with new agreement

Plans to construct a health technology campus in Solihull are advancing, following a new agreement among the University of Warwick, Arden Cross Ltd, and placemaking firm Muse. The proposed campus forms part of the extensive Arden Cross regeneration project, which is expected to be significantly bolstered by the HS2 interchange in Solihull. This collaboration aims to unite Warwick University, the NHS, and private sector entities in a vibrant new development area.
Muse regional managing director, Maggie Grogan, highlighted the project’s importance, stating: “Arden Cross is already one of the region’s most exciting regeneration opportunities and takes advantage of the significant public investment already being made in HS2. The HealthTech Campus will enhance the opportunity as a location of national and international importance.”
The wider Arden Cross scheme, valued at £3.2 billion, promises to deliver tens of thousands of jobs, alongside new homes, commercial spaces, and public areas, establishing an innovation district centred around the new campus.
West Midlands mayor, Richard Parker, expressed the strategic significance of the project, commenting: “Arden Cross is a priority growth project for me and the region. It’s pivotal to delivering the business investment and the jobs that we need.”
University of Warwick vice-chancellor, Stuart Croft, also spoke about the campus, noting: “The Arden Cross HealthTech Campus will leverage the competitive advantage of the West Midlands to accelerate innovation in healthtech, transform healthcare services and improve patient outcomes locally, nationally, and globally.”
