Fujitsu secures 17,500 sq ft office space in Birmingham Business Park

Fujitsu has recently relocated to Blake House, a newly refurbished office building near Birmingham International Airport and Station, marking the largest business park letting along the M42 corridor in over two years. The move follows a refurbishment by the property’s owner, a Charitable Foundation based in the South East, with Fujitsu acquiring over 17,500 square feet of space.
Fujitsu is a global information and communication technology (ICT) company, offering a wide range of technology products, solutions, and services. Fujitsu’s offerings span various domains including digital business transformation, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. With a strong presence in over 100 countries, they aim to deliver high-performance IT solutions through continuous innovation and collaboration with their customers. Fujitsu was also involved in the Post Office Horizon scandal, which was a miscarriage of justice that wrongly prosecuted hundreds of sub-postmasters.
Blake House, situated adjacently to key transport links, as part of Birmingham Business Park, offers its tenants high levels of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards and amenities. According to Jonathan Ottewell, Associate Director at Savills Birmingham Office Agency, “The accommodation our client has delivered at Blake House offers some of the highest levels of ESG and amenities available in any multi-let building in Solihull, featuring new end-of-trip facilities, EV charging points, communal collaboration space and photovoltaic roof panels that generate 70,000 kWh of electricity for use within the building.”
The recent letting to Fujitsu signifies a robust recovery in the Solihull and M42 office market, driven by increased demand from professional services and TMT sectors. Jonathan Carmalt, Director at the National Office Agency, JLL, noted, “The letting at Blake House further adds to the robust recovery for the M42 and Solihull office market which has seen improved activity and a rise in demand from professional services and TMT occupiers. We are seeing a reduction in levels of availability and where landlords are investing capital to improve their buildings, rents continue to increase”.
In addition to Fujitsu, other notable companies such as ABP Food Group, Allianz Financial Services, and Robert Half Recruitment have also relocated to this area, taking advantage of the premium office spaces available. Currently, Blake House has suites ranging from 5,400 square feet with a total of 16,500 square feet still available for letting.
