Jaguar unveils Type 00: production coming to Midlands
Jaguar has introduced the Type 00, a standout example of its renewed dedication to innovation and uniqueness, signalling the continuation of its transformative journey. Following last month’s reveal of a bold new visual identity, Jaguar has now unveiled a distinctive design vision with the Type 00. This concept car exemplifies Jaguar at its best: a fearless declaration and an object of desire. It introduces bold forms and exuberant proportions intended to influence future Jaguar models.
The Type 00 diverges from traditional electric vehicle designs, featuring a long bonnet, sweeping roofline, fastback profile, and 23-inch alloy wheels that craft a dramatic silhouette. Reflecting Jaguar’s vibrant new identity, this design is rich with symbols of transformation inspired by Jaguar’s extensive heritage, including the iconic leaper emblem.
Presented in two colours, Miami Pink and London Blue, the Type 00 was globally debuted at Miami Art Week, underscoring Jaguar’s advocacy for the arts and celebrating British creativity. This initiative also marks Jaguar’s transition to an electric-only brand. The first reimagined production model, an electric four-door GT, is scheduled for release in late 2025 and will be built across Jaguar’s UK manufacturing sites, which include Gaydon in Warwickshire, Whitley in Coventry, Solihull, Castle Bromwich, and the i54 business site near Wolverhampton.
Adrian Mardell, CEO of JLR, stated, “The magic of Jaguar is close to my heart—an original British luxury brand unparalleled in its heritage, artistry, and emotional appeal. That’s the Jaguar we are reclaiming, and we aim to recreate the awe surrounding iconic models like the E-type. Our journey, firmly rooted in our ethos to ‘Copy Nothing’, is set to deliver spectacular outcomes.”
