Volt Time launches Source 2 EV charger powered by Versinetic’s smart charging technologies
In a recent collaborative effort, Volt Time, a Dutch company specialising in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has introduced the Source 2 EV charger, equipped with smart charging capabilities developed by Versinetic, a UK-based company proficient in EV technology. The Source 2 EV charger includes innovative features aimed at both residential and commercial sectors.
The charger supports dynamic energy tariffs, solar load balancing, and enhanced security features, making it a competitive product in the Dutch EV market. It boasts MID Certified Metering, which ensures precise billing, and its design facilitates ease of use with features like a Lifetime 4G SIM and compatibility with the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) Proxy, enhancing user flexibility and connectivity.
A dedicated app provides functionalities such as Dynamic Load Balancing, Solar Balancing, and Peak Shaving, enabling users to manage energy usage effectively. For installers, the Source 2’s pluggable architecture simplifies the installation process, thereby reducing both time and costs associated with setup.
Versinetic has been instrumental in the development of the Source 2, contributing hardware and software solutions like the MANTARAY and EEL charge controllers and the BalanSea load balancing software, essential for optimising the use of solar power in EV charging.
Berend Simons, co-founder and General Director of Volt Time, highlighted Versinetic’s significant role in the product’s development: “Versinetic’s technical expertise and hands-on approach have been invaluable in helping us develop a product that not only meets but exceeds the needs of our market,” he said. The partnership between Volt Time and Versinetic continues to be central to Volt Time’s strategy, aiming to cater to the increasing demands of the Dutch EV market with sustainable and innovative solutions.
