ByteSnap strikes up new strategic partnership with Particle to enhance IoT devices and projects
ByteSnap Design, a recognised embedded design consultancy, has unveiled a strategic partnership with Particle, a provider of comprehensive edge-to-cloud infrastructure for the Internet of Things (IoT). This collaboration is a notable development in the creation of integrated IoT solutions that are both efficient and scalable. The partnership will be showcased at the Engineering Design Show (EDS) on stand H52.
The alliance leverages ByteSnap Design’s broad expertise in embedded systems development with Particle’s robust IoT infrastructure to offer improved connectivity solutions across various industries, including automotive, healthcare, and smart cities. By integrating embeddable modules and off-the-shelf gateways into Particle’s IoT Platform-as-a-Service, ByteSnap Design and Particle are set to streamline the IoT development process. This integration facilitates the rapid deployment of intelligent, connected products that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and user experience.
ByteSnap Design to showcase mmWave technology for non-invasive tracking
At the upcoming EDS event from 9-10 October 2024, ByteSnap will demonstrate an innovative application that merges millimetre wave (mmWave) technology with Particle’s IoT platform for sophisticated remote sensor management. The demonstration will feature a “spinning head” mechanism, finely calibrated to monitor movement across a broad field of view in real time, effectively tracking people and occupancy.
Powered by Particle’s Photon 2 Wi-Fi development board and IoT Platform-as-a-Service, the ByteSnap team has seamlessly integrated sensor data streaming to the cloud, allowing for instant analytics, remote management, and diagnostics. The mmWave technology used in this system discreetly tracks individuals without cameras, maintaining privacy by not storing personal data—a forward-thinking, non-invasive solution.
Upcoming joint projects and a focus on diverse sectors
The partnership is initiating a series of joint development projects, including an IoT module that ensures enterprise-grade security and seamless integration across multiple platforms and devices. ByteSnap has engineered IoT solutions for various sectors, such as software for electric vehicle charging, smart home systems, environmental monitoring tools, healthcare devices, and agricultural technologies, though the names of major brands involved are not publicly listed.
“By combining our deep knowledge of embedded systems with Particle’s IoT technology, we are poised to offer our clients unparalleled integrated solutions,” said Graeme Wintle, Director at ByteSnap Design. The partnership is committed to staying at the forefront of developing connected devices that meet the evolving demands of their customers.
Learn more about this partnership at the forthcoming EDS, scheduled for 9-10 October 2024 at the NEC. At the event, ByteSnap will also display a varied collection of recent projects across different industries, including security, medical, industrial, oil and gas, and more.
Director Dunstan Power is also scheduled to deliver the opening keynote in the New Electronics Theatre on “Spotting R & D Winners and Losers – How Best to Invest Your R & D Budget” at 10:15 – 11 on 10 October 2024.
