Clarity Software acquired by US Group Inktavo in strategic expansion move
Clarity Software, a Solihull-based management information system (MIS) vendor, has been acquired by the American group, Inktavo. Known for its specialised MIS software, Clarity caters to a wide range of industries including the sign and graphics sector, providing essential tools for job pricing, production management, and inventory management.
The acquisition by Inktavo, a prominent provider of integrated software services for branded merchandise companies, marks a significant step in expanding Inktavo’s geographical footprint and product offerings. “Inktavo’s mission is to create a family of solutions for branded merchandise businesses to organise and grow,” remarked James Armijo, CEO of Inktavo.
He added, “Our acquisition of Clarity Software expands the geographies we can serve and positions Inktavo to provide even more flexible and comprehensive software solutions that enable signage shop businesses to grow seamlessly using a single application.”
Gamlin emphasized the benefits for Clarity’s customers, noting that they “will ultimately benefit from the expansion of flexible software functionality to help them grow using one application.”
Legal guidance for Clarity’s shareholders was provided by a Freeths team led by partner Lee Clifford and Managing Associate Olivia Johnson. Clifford highlighted the significance of Clarity’s software tool, stating, “The acquisition will enable Clarity to further scale and expand its product offering, particularly within the US.” He also noted the continuing momentum in the tech sector, particularly SaaS, underlining it as a driver for ongoing mergers and acquisitions activity.
Clarity’s preparation for the sale was managed by advisers at Clairfield, who sought a buyer that matched well strategically. “We were looking to scale and expand geographically, particularly in the US and non-English speaking markets,” said Richard Gamlin, Chief Executive of Clarity.
