Company acquires Warwickshire tech specialist
ASM Technologies, an Indian engineering firm with a strong background in the semiconductor, hi-tech, and automotive industries, has announced the acquisition of Semcon Engineering, a Warwick-based technology specialist. Semcon, previously a division of the Swedish company Semcon, is located on Edgehill Drive in Warwick and serves a diverse range of clients across the automotive, energy, and life sciences sectors.
This strategic acquisition is set to enhance ASM’s capabilities in the transportation sector, particularly as it navigates the shift towards new propulsion systems and advanced driver-assistance technologies.
The deal was facilitated by Robert Lee, a Corporate Partner at Leamington Spa’s Wright Hassall, who specializes in mergers and acquisitions. Wright Hassall leveraged its extensive international network to support ASM’s expansion efforts in the UK.
He said: “This was an exciting international deal to work on which has been a long time in the making.
“For ASM, the deal represents a key part of its growth strategy, presenting tremendous opportunities to strengthen its UK and European presence.
“This inward investment into the UK is also a great show of strength in the automotive industry in the West Midlands, with the region long-established as experts in automotive innovation.”
