Air IT group expands once again
Private equity-backed Air IT has expanded with the acquisition of Reading-based MFG and Uttoxeter-based INFINITY.
The Air IT Group’s headcount now stands at 270 staff – more than 200 of whom are in service-related roles. By joining forces, Air IT said it can help expand the product range of both companies with its range of IT support, communications, cyber security and business intelligence services.
Backed by August Equity since January 2020, this marks the fourth time the IT managed service provider has acquired two businesses simultaneously – the first pair last October, the second in December and the third in March.
Established in Reading in 2008, MFG is a managed IT, cyber security and communications specialist, and a partner of Microsoft, Dell and Datto. The team support clients throughout the Thames Valley to make the best use of technology throughout their business.
Managed IT specialist INFINITY IT Solutions was founded in Staffordshire in 2009 and provides clients with the IT support and maintenance they need to run a fully-functioning IT department.
John Whitty, chief executive of Air IT, said: “Both MFG and INFINITY are very similar to us in terms of their service maturity, product set, client type and, most importantly, culture – we are confident that they will be a great fit for Air IT and look forward to the contribution we know they will add.
“Our aim is to be the go-to MSP and MSSP for SMEs across the UK, delivering a local service on a national scale, and welcoming exceptional talent to the group will help us achieve this.”
Foot Anstey and Grant Thornton worked on the deal.
