Infosys to create 1,000 jobs in Nottingham and London
Indian technology giant has announced opening of offices in the UK, including one of its offices in Nottingham as part of a drive to create 1,000 new jobs over the next three years.
Technology services company Infosys Limited, which has its headquarters in Bangalore, established itself in a 23,000 square-foot office in Sherwood Business Park in 2018.
The company, which provides business consulting and IT outsourcing services, has before assisted the University of Nottingham by linking its three world-wide campuses with a state-of-the-art student records IT system.
It hopes to strengthen its India-UK relationship through its work with cloud computing, data and analytics and artificial intelligence jobs.
Salil Parekh, the company’s chief executive, said: “While the talent gap has been looming, the events of the past year have exacerbated the need for vital digital skills as businesses have rapidly accelerated their digital transformation.
“Bridging the digital divide and making quality digital education accessible to every citizen are vital to the establishment of a robust future workforce, and the UK’s economic recovery.
“Our commitment to the UK is to support both recovery and growth through digital acceleration, hiring new talent, and supporting the development and re-skilling of existing talent to meet evolving economic demands.
“We continue to partner with universities across the UK to nurture the next generation of digital leaders and continually strive to close the skills gap, investing in a brighter future for everyone.”
The company hopes to employ around 1,000 people in the UK in the next three years, and has been recognised as a top-five UK employer.
New team members will join the workforce at Infosys’ design studio in Shoreditch, its innovation center in Canary Wharf and proximity centres in Nottinghamshire and other client locations across the UK.
