Intercede, of Lutterworth, makes security software for global organisations, and has achieved record sales with its revenue increasing by 25 per cent to £11 million for the year to the end of March, compared to £8.8 million in 2015.
Intercede develops identity software, called MyID, for organisations where security is critical, such as governments, banks and aerospace and defence companies.
In recent years, it has invested heavily in applying its software to smart phones and tablets, and developed a cloud-based service called MyTAM. Recently, the company announced a new security platform for Android devices and enhanced security for the new Intel Authenticate technology. Later this month, the firm will launch RapID, a security system that “kills the need for passwords”.
Finance director Andrew Walker said: “Intercede has built a successful business supplying its MyID identity and credential management software to governments and organisations across a range of markets including finance, aerospace and defence, chemicals and healthcare.
“This business was historically based upon the provision of smart card-based solutions for the individuals in those organisations.”
Mr Walker said the advent of smart phones and tablets has opened up much larger opportunities that Intercede is working hard to exploit.
He said there was also potential for the group’s technology to be used to provide enhanced security for objects (as well as individuals) within the Internet of Things market – where physical objects are embedded with electronics and software.
