IT & Digital Training Academy wants to kick-start Midlands tech careers
The IT & Digital Skills Training Academy has been launched by CompTIA and North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College to boost digital skills in the West Midlands.
Online courses will run flexibly over a 12-week period, offering qualifications in everything from technology concepts to managing devices.
It is hoped that career-seeking regional residents will use the free training courses to take advantage of Birmingham having become – according to recent research from CompTIA – one of the country’s strongest tech hubs.
The initiative is being funded by a grant from the West Midlands Combined Authority.
“Investment in digital skills will help us future-proof our region’s workforce and continue to help establish the West Midlands as the UK’s leading tech hub,” said Andy Street, mayor of the West Midlands.
“The WMCA’s funding for the IT & Digital Training Academy is a huge step in making sure we are providing citizens with every opportunity to thrive in tech roles, and we look forward to seeing the course make a real and positive difference to the people and businesses of the West Midlands.”
The course is enrolling until July 30. For further info visit: nwslc.ac.uk/digital-training
