Pera Technology calls in administrators
Eighty jobs have been safeguarded at Leicestershire product development contractor Pera Technology after assets of the business were bought out of administration by its management team.
Darren Brookes and Gary Corbett of insolvency firm Milner Boardman were appointed joint administrators of Melton Mowbray-based Pera Technology Ltd (PTL) on 11 April 2016. According to its last available accounts, the firm turned over £13.6m in the year to 31 March 2015 with a pre-tax loss of £1.3m.
The news comes just weeks after sister company Pera Management Services was wound up.
Pera Technology, based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, was established in 1946 to try and stimulate activity in post-War Britain.
Clients of all sizes from across Europe used their services to ease the risk involved in new product development, as well as access European grant funding.
Over the past decade, it was estimated that Pera Technology worked on at least 600 innovative technology projects, with a market value of around £20bn for our clients.
